From the early days of Quicken, we have used Quickbooks products almost from their inception. Apart from our first year trading we have used Quickbooks desktop for the practice thoughout. So when the opportunity came to try out the online product we jumped at the opportunity and have not looked back since. We used a Quickbooks partner for the import of the last 4 years data which was straightforward and easy, then jumped in with both feet. While the look and how you access the data is different, the actual input of invoices/bills etc is exactly the same.
Then there was a further opportunity to qualify as a Quickbooks Online Pro Adviser which involved attendance of a one day course and passing a series of tests which we passed with flying colours. Clearly as experienced users we knew alot about the product and input but as a “feedaback” driven organisation there are always changes happening. Some of the functions we particularly like are:
- The bank feed which draws data from your bank account. If it recognises an entry it pre-categorises it for your approval, so no need to retype
- With the bank feed you do not need to log into your bank account separately to find the latest entries, they are already there, a real boon for credit control
- Mobile app – this has evolved even in the last few weeks, so now in addition to seeing latest entries and entering invoices, you can enter expenses out of the office and they automatically upload once you are back online. You can also view basic profit and loss and balance sheet reports
As a Pro Adviser we can also offer the product at a lower monthly rate than you can obtain independently, and of course have detailed knowledge of the product should you have any queries. If you have any questions or would like a quote please contact us.
