The details provided below are in response to requests from clients of AW Accounting in Gravesend for details of what to give your accountant at the year end for your taxes.  This specifically relates to Sage but the principles are the same for all computer accounting packages

Profit and loss for the year

  • Select Financials then Reports and select Profit and Loss report (PNL)
  • Make sure the year end (period 12) is selected then Run the report
  • You can either email the report as a pdf or Export to pdf

Balance sheet (with comparatives)

  • Select Financials then Reports and select Balance Sheet report (BSR)
  • Make sure the year end (period 12) is selected then Run the report
  • You can either email the report as a pdf or Export to pdf

Trial balance

  • Select Financials then Reports and select Trial Balance report
  • Make sure the year end (period 12) is selected then Run the report
  • You can either email the report as a pdf or Export to pdf

Detailed nominal transaction list

  • Select Nominal then Reports and select Nominal Activity report (NOMACT or NOMACTX)
  • Make sure the year end (period 12) is selected, exclude zero entry transactions if applicable then Run the report
  • You can either email the report as a pdf or Export to pdf

Summary aged debt

  • Select Customers and make sure no specific customers are selected, if so Clear
  • Select Reports and Summary aged debt
  • Make sure the year end date is selected rather than today, click to exclude later payments then Run the report
  • You can either email the report as a pdf or Export to pdf

Summary aged credit

  • Select Suppliers and make sure no specific suppliers are selected, if so Clear
  • Select Reports and Summary aged credit
  • Make sure the year end date is selected rather than today, click to exclude later payments then Run the report
  • You can either email the report as a pdf or Export to pdf
