This post is specifically for clients and others using Moneysoft Payroll Manager and details the checks and steps you should be taking before RTI is introduced in April 2013.
As shown in my earlier post there are a couple of areas which will now be required for the online submission and these should be entered as follows:
- Employee hours worked – this defaults to D: Other, but can be amended to the correct regular hours in Employees / Employee details. There are 3 other bands: A – Upto 15.99 hours; B – 16-29.99 hours; C 30 hours or more
- HMRC Accounts office reference, this needs to be added in Employer/Employer details/Tax office
There are then a couple of checks you can run to make sure everything is ready:
- Data validation for RTI – this is accessed from Analysis tab, hopefully this will show “No validation errors”, if not will show what needs to be entered
- Another useful form is the employee list: Employees/employee list, this will show the data for employees in a list, and you should see full name, NI Number, date of birth, Address and postcode, and hours worked.
All that should remain to do is make sure the software is updated when you create the new file for 2013/14 and should there be any starters or leavers that they are included as soon as possible during the year.
This article only covers the areas we found were missing or relevant and if you have any specific queries you should seek professional advice before taking any further steps. If you would like advice in this or other areas feel free to call.
